Biography
Thomas O’Malley joined The Dearie Law Firm, P.C. in April 2024, bringing with him a distinguished background in both criminal and civil litigation. He began his academic journey at the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his undergraduate degree, before obtaining his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law.
Admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, Thomas launched his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn. During his tenure, he prosecuted a wide range of serious felony cases, including assault, narcotics offenses, and homicide.
Following his service in the District Attorney’s Office, Thomas transitioned into civil litigation, working with several prominent law firms in New York City. There, he gained experience on both the defense and plaintiff sides of complex civil matters. Over the course of his career, he has tried more than seventy five civil jury trials in both State and Federal courts, handling cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, motor vehicle accidents, and labor law claims.
His courtroom success includes numerous multi-million-dollar jury verdicts, as well as significant settlements reached shortly before or during trial. Thomas is a seasoned trial attorney known for his tenacity, courtroom skill, and unwavering commitment to his clients. He believes that empathy, meticulous preparation, grit, and experience are the cornerstones of effective and zealous advocacy.
